There are 3 concerns with creating a book: Design/presentation, formatting content, and binding the book. Knowing 'how' to make a book is key to addressing content and design.

—PERSONAL LIBRARY— The BookMaaker™ kit teaches hands-on book structure as you make two 96-page quarter-bound 'flat-back' (using a spine) journal-size hardcover blank books. AVERAGE COMPLETION TIME: First book: 3-hours. Second book: 1-1/2 hours

Once you have made a book, you will be able to apply your structural knowledge to consider creating your own limited edition books.

DESKTOP PUBLISHING
The BookMaaker™ is designed to accommodate the use of letter-size (8-1/2"x11") paper, with a finished book page size of 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" making it possible to use computer desktop publishing, computer printer, and copy machine to bring uniqueness to the finished product.

ADDITIONAL HELPERS:
Along with a ruler, scissors, and a bonefolder, you will also want to use two bricks. Yes, bricks.

*BRICKS* *BRICKS* *BRICKS*
In order to help stabilize the construction process, it is suggested that you use two standard household masonry bricks.

Make sure the bricks are dry. Not just plucked out of the garden. (Moisture and paper do not work well together). You can purchase them at a lumber-supply store.

Wrap and tape the bricks as you would a gift, and you're set to go. They also make good bookends.
