In a 1-day,
7-hour workshop, you will learn to make an 84-page hardcover open-back
hand-sewn signature-style book similar to those made in the middle ages.
Cover design
and book structure will be applied, as you integrate the sewing of signatures
and covers using imported irish waxed linen thread. You will choose
one of two different size books to make.
Working
from the inside out, you will create a cover design and select different
weights and types of paper, which you will sew and bind using the tools
and techniques developed by Plickity Plunk Press in the creation
of its museum-store limited edition books.
This hands-on
workshop involves a one-thread sewing technique.
